Child arrests in England and Wales 2019: research briefing.

Summary: Publishes findings from responses to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request from 43 police service areas in England and Wales and the British Transport Police. Finds that: in 2019 there were 71,885 child arrests in England and Wales, a reduction of 71 per cent since 2010; nearly 11,000 arrests were of girls; and nearly 400 arrests were of primary school aged children. Table shows numbers of child arrests by police service area 2010-2019.
