The HM Inspectorate of Constabulary has published a joint inspection into the provision of appropriate adults for children in custody and accommodation in local authorities. Findings include: information flow between Youth Offending Teams and appropriate adults was ineffective; policy custody records were inadequate; and the physical environment of custody areas did not encourage disclosure of vulnerabilities or special needs.
