| Ofsted has published a memorandum of understanding between Ofsted and the Department for Education which extends their responsibility for monitoring secure children’s homes in England. Ofsted will advise the DfE on whether to place under-13s in SCHs, decide which notifications of serious incidents should be flagged up to the Secretary of State, and take responsibility for the approval of premises for use as SCHs. |
