Louise Casey, head of the Government’s Troubled Families Programme, has published a report looking at the problems families face. It is based on 16 case studies and investigates the problems experienced, what caused the problems and what sort of help will enable them to change. Found that child abuse was a factor in the dysfunction of many of the families.

The Children’s Commissioner for England has published a report on age assessments of children seeking asylum

The Children’s Commissioner for England has published a report on age assessments of children seeking asylum following the 2009 Judgement that the Judicial Review Court should be the ultimate arbiter of the fact of age in disputed cases. Looks at whether the judgement has improved decision making in Local Authorities, how the JRC has adapted and whether outcomes have improved for children and young people. Both positive and negative consequences have been noted.
